The Milhouse IT team is growing and as such, we'd like to bring on a Cyber Security Engineer III!
As a Cyber Security Engineer III, you will play a vital role in keeping Milhouse's proprietary and sensitive information secure. This individual works with the IT team, security vendors, client compliance representatives, proposal team, and inter-departmentally within Milhouse to identify, test, analyze, and assess Milhouse's security systems, solutions, policies, and programs while recommending preemptive best practice measures that can improve Milhouse's overall security posture. The security engineer is ultimately responsible for constantly ensuring that the company's digital assets are protected and compliant with our client's regulatory requirements. This individual must be able to research new security tools and applications, confirming their applicability to the team's operational and environmental capabilities. Additionally, the Cyber Security Engineer II will perform security monitoring, security and data/logs analysis and forensic analysis to detect security incidents, and mounts rapid incident response. You will investigate and utilize new technologies and processes to enhance security capabilities and implement improvements. Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Supporting/Overseeing/Managing/Auditing next generation firewalls, encryption, anti-virus, malware, DLP, SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability, and other security solutions and vendors
    • Act as a Lead or Project Manager on security related technical projects/tasks, including but not limited to, security controls development and implementation, contingency plan, policy development and updating, security testing and remediation, compliance tracking and realigning, documentation for management and auditing activities, based on guidance documents such as NIST and CMMC
    • Perform security assessment and risk analysis including log auditing and vulnerability scanning
    • Support the growth and expansion of Milhouse from a security perspective
    • Interact with representatives of FBI, DCSA, Clients, and other government agencies, as required
    • Maintain and assist in remediating tasks in Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
    • Find cost-effective solutions to cybersecurity challenges
    • Analyze security systems and seek improvements on a continuous basis
    • Prepare and document latest security principles, standard operating procedures, and protocols
    • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
    • Responsible for developing a Cyber Awareness companywide culture
    • Security Awareness Training (Formal and Informal Education)
    • Supporting IT department (Infrastructure and Service Desk) as needed
    • Other duties as required
Required Skills and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Science, MIS, Computer Science, or in a similar field from an accredited institution
    • At least 1-5+ years' experience in the cyber security industry
    • Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH or CISM desired
    • Knowledge of Engineering/Construction/Environmental industry is a plus
    • Ability to prioritize projects
    • Effective working and reacting in a fast-paced ambiguous ever changing environment
    • Must possess the ability to clearly and effectively present information in one-on-one and large setting
    • Ability to multi task while displaying a strong attention to detail
    • Must possess solid analytical, problem solving, self-starter, and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication skills articulating complex computer and data challenges
    • An understanding of computer code, and in particular what dangerous code such as virus or malware looks like and how to deal with it
    • Background and knowledge of risk assessment technologies and methods
    • Understanding of computer forensics and security breach protocols
    • Experience with developing and implementing security procedures and policies
    • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices (and a record of proving how to stay current on industry change)
