Position The County of Monterey Monterey County encompasses some of California's most stunning scenery and offers an ideal year-round Mediterranean climate. Miles of beautiful beaches, spectacular mountain ranges, groves of redwoods, low-rolling foothills, and scenic valleys are characteristics that contribute to the quality of life enjoyed by over 446,000 residents and the numerous tourists who visit the area year-round. Natividad Medical Center is a 172-bed acute care hospital owned and operated by Monterey County. We are a teaching hospital with a UCSF affiliated Family Medicine residency program as well as rotating medical students and physician assistant students. We encourage providers with a strong interest in medical education to apply. We pride ourselves on having a supportive and collegial environment. Position Full time hospitalist positions available for Internal Medicine or Family Medicine trained physicians in our hospital employed group. We have both day shift and nocturnist positions available. For the day shift (7am-7pm), procedures are welcome but not required. Code coverage is shared between teams. Hospitalists rotate between teaching and non-teaching medicine teams as well as our Acute Rehabilitation Unit. Teams rotate admitting days. Nocturnists (7pm-7am) will cover the ICU and must be proficient in central lines, intubation and ventilator management, with in-house backup from anesthesia. Nocturnists will supervise residents with admissions (average 4-5 per night), codes and cross-cover.
