The Echocardiographer (Echosonographer) is primarily responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) procedures such as Trans-thoracic, stress echocardiography, Tran esophageal echocardiography (TEE) within inpatient, outpatient or intra-operative settings, to provide physicians with complete, accurate anatomical and functional diagnostic information. With proper training and knowledge of other functions within the cardiology services, may perform other duties related to clinical diagnostic testing and/or operational tasks that manifest a teamwork environment.
- BLS certification through American Heart Association.
- New hires or incumbents must successfully complete the registry for echocardiography certification within 12 months if not certified at the time of employment. Must maintain certification/registered status for duration of employment.
- Requires a degree from an accredited echocardiography/radiology program.
- Prefer experience in both pediatric and adult echocardiography and intra-operative trans esophageal echocardiography
