Overland Park Regional Medical Center is one of the premiere medical facilities in Johnson County. The hospital is a licensed 343-bed facility offering acute and outpatient medical care services to the Overland Park community and the surrounding areas since December of 1978. The hospital campus features four medical office buildings, two pharmacies and the offices of more than 100 physicians.

Infusion Clinic - Charge Registered Nurse/RN Responsibilities:

  • The role of the Registered Nurse is to perform patient care under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager. The Registered nurse provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the mission of Overland Park Regional Medical Center. The Registered Nurse in this department provides care for adult patients between 18 to 64 years and geriatric patients 65 years and older.

    • Plans, directs, and manages staff and patient flow to assure quality nursing care.
    • Works on assigned tasks under the direction of the Director of Oncology Services in keeping staffing and productivity costs within departmental standards.
    • Supervise and support staff, while also treating a limited number of patients if needed.
    • Delegating nursing assignments and preparing schedules, meanwhile balancing administrative tasks and clinical care.
    • Provide guidance and direction for staff; act as a resource; motivate and lead staff.
    • Manage lunch breaks for staff; coverage of lunch breaks if needed.
    • Ordering of office and clinic supplies.
    • Submission of daily registered patients in tracking system; submission of spreadsheet of clinic volumes.
    • Flexible and able to prioritize and adapt during emergencies.
    • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are critical for charge nurse.

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with either an ADN or BSN degree.
  • Must hold a current license from the Kansas Board of Nursing. BLS is required upon hire. Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Card from Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) preferred within first 6 months of hire; required within first year of hire. Certified Oncology Nurse (OCN) from Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) preferred.

  • Prior experience in a similarly sized facility with similar services provided is preferred. Previous emergency,pre-hospital or critical care preferred. Previous oncology experience strongly preferred.
