Reston Hospital Center is a 231-bed hospital offering a full range of medical services, including 24-hour emergency care, specializing in maternal/child health, surgical services, urological services, cancer care with state-of-the-art radiation therapy, rehabilitation therapy programs and a wide array of diagnostic imaging capabilities.
What would you do in this role?
- · Administers clinical evaluations and plans appropriate treatment programs. Adapts conventional Occupational Therapy techniques to meet the age appropriate need of each patient along with other specific needs based on his/her mental, physical, and emotional status.
- · Establishes implements and modifies treatment plans and participates in discharge planning.
- · Completes documentation in accordance with Rehabilitation Medicine policy and procedures.
- Communicates effectively with all patients, families, Rehabilitation Medicine staff, students, supervisors and contacts outside of Rehabilitation Medicine.
- Responsible for own professional growth and development.
Education: BS or MS in Occupational Therapy
Certification: Virginia Occupational Therapy License. BLS/ CPR required.
Experience: Satisfactorily completed three clinical affiliations. Proficient in evaluation and treatment in basic ortho/neuro/ped. Must be receptive to patient education process and be creative in planning, teaching, and setting goals for patients. Must have good oral and written communication skills and proficient in documentation. Maintain professional appearance and show empathy and compassion for patients, families and personnel. Must be receptive and supportive of new ideas and able to work within a team environment
