Analyzes actual and predictable Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) policy and procedural guidance documentation.
Supporting the development and update NATOPS' general flight and operating instructions for F-18 type model series aircraft.
Provide support in generating sound operational procedures as an overarching approach to sustain combat effectiveness and readiness in the Fleet by updating and standard flight doctrine and operating procedures to be employed in new aircraft Blocks and type models variants.
Updates will include but not be limited to updates required for flight operating procedures, training, aircraft limitations, technical data for safe and effective operation.
Utilizes judgment, experience and subject matter expertise, decision support tools, and basic to extremely complex modeling and measurement techniques, mathematics, statistical methods and other principles in the professional body of knowledge in determining updates to incorporate in the NATOPS document(s).
Bachelors and 3 - 6 years of related experience.
- Previous NATOPS/NATIPS experience
- Former F-18 aircrew
- Experience in managing NATOPS/NATIPS review summaries and corrections of chapter content.
- Previous experience in operating in a lab or simulator environment to capture and coordinate delivery of requested system information to NATOPS/NATIPS writers.
- Experience/familiarity in supporting airworthiness boards.
