Performs the analysis, experimentation, and science for materials and materials related technology.
Performs various chemical and physical analyses on materials.
Performs experiments to improve or develop new materials related technologies.
Designs and initiates processes for the advancement of material science, materials engineering control and related areas such as: physical properties, material preparation, processing, manufacturing, modeling, sensors, electrochemistry, applications and development.
Performs strategic planning, technology road mapping, engineering evaluations and technical assessments.
May conduct research to develop new and improved materials related processes, perform tests throughout stages of equipment life to determine degree of control over variables.

Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARNACE:
Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience. Preferred Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Material Science.
Must be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret Security Clearance.
Candidate must be a US Citizen.
Dimensional Analysis, material properties, failure analysis, metallurgical analysis, mechanical aptitude.
