SAIC is seeking a Network Operations (NETOPS) Service Desk Tech focused on Tactical Communications in Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) and Emergency Management mission. Duties will include management of up to 25 nodes on the network infrastructure (4G/LTE, satellite (iDirect) and military radios), network configuration, implementing network security policies in line with commercial best practice guidelines, troubleshooting, configuring and repairing network solutions to meet customer needs. Additionally, the Network Technician will assist in identifying network faults and provide solutions to problems, provide network technical support to internal and external network systems, troubleshoot lower level network problems, and validate on a daily basis operation of network services.
The Network Operations (NETOPS) Service Desk Tech will report directly to the Network Lead and carry out daily operational tasks outlined by the technical chain of command. The Level 1 Network Operations (NETOPS) Service Desk Tech is expected to be a fast learner, high motivated, and adaptable person as the majority of training related to the Service Desk will be on the job training (OTJ). Strong interpersonal skills, documentation and reporting abilities are also a must.
QualificationsAA Degree in related discipline; Or, High School and up to two (2) years of related experience with certification.
