Department: Labor and Delivery, Labor & Delivery, L&D

Position Summary: The L&D Manager will be responsible for the clinical and financial outcomes of designated clinical unit/units. Acts as a representative of the Director of Nursing and Administration. Collaborates with Director of Nursing and Nursing Unit Supervisor in ensuring competent, cost effective patient care.


Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:

Manages unit/units operations

Manages unit/units personnel activities

Coordinates inter and intra departmental activities of the unit/units.

Maintains Clinical Competence

Develops a professional climate within the nursing unit/units.


Supervisor: Director Women's Services

Supervises: Professional and non-professional personnel assigned to the nursing unit(s).

Southern Hills Hospital is located in Southwest Las Vegas just off the I-215 and Durango/Sunset exit. The facility is an accredited 252-bed acute care hospital providing emergency and pediatric emergency services, a behavioral health (geriatric psychiatric) inpatient and outpatient program serving ages 50 and older, accredited Chest Pain Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center, a dedicated orthopedic and spine unit, OB-GYN, Level II NICU, diagnostic imaging and surgical services. Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor of Science in one of the following areas: Nursing, Management, or Health Administration

Preferred: Masters of Science in Nursing

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Requires a minimum 3 years L&D experience with 2 years L&D SNU experience

Preferred: Documented experience demonstrating leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nevada Required

BLS Certification from the American Heart Association Required

ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association Required

NRP Provider Required

STABLE Required

AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced) Required

NCC EFM or Inpatient Obstetrics Certification Preferred
