Summerville Medical Center is home to a state-of-the-art Women's & Children's program that delivers more babies than any other health system in the Lowcountry. The program is located in a brand new women's tower, which is part of a $53 million investment designed to provide high quality, compassionate care in a home-like environment. After the new tower opened, Trident Health consolidated all women's & children's resources to Summerville Medical Center, signaling a landmark moment for the health system in caring for Lowcountry women and children. Our team consists of more than 170 highly qualified clinicians and board-certified physicians, and a comprehensive range of services for women and children. In the last year, Summerville Medical Center delivered more than 2,700 babies, including 36 sets of twins, and cared for more than 400 babies in the hospital's Level II neonatal ICU.

The Administrative Director will develop and support the strategic direction and operational needs of the departments.  In this position you will be a transformational leader who is current with national, state and local maternal child health trends and continually seeks out opportunities to infuse innovative approaches to the delivery of patient care.  Join this dynamic team to unlock the possibilities of your career.

 

What you will do in this role:

  • You will assume 24- hour responsibility for OB/GYN, Nursery (Level I, II & III), Postpartum, Pediatrics & Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic.
  • You will provide strategic leadership for the Trident Health Women's & Children's service line operations.
  • You will be responsible for the successful day-to-day operation of the assigned patient care area(s)
  • You will provide operational oversight to ensure the financial viability of initiatives, implementation of business plans, marketing efforts and operating plan guidance.
  • You will engage and support pediatricians, neonatologists, obstetricians, perinatologists, pediatric specialists & other physicians as integral parts of the development of Women's and Children's programs within the local (Charleston) market.
  •      You will achieve full implementation of a regional service line strategy that will increase primary and secondary service area market share, strengthen hospital and physician partnerships, and improve clinical quality and service excellence.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State which you practice or must hold Compact/Multi-State RN License preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or Business Required; Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or Business preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Women's and Children's Services including leadership experience

Summerville Medical Center is a 124-bed, acute care hospital offering cardiac services, pediatrics, women's services, and surgical services including orthopedics, reflux, robotics, and weight loss surgeries. In 2020, the hospital expanded its 24/7 emergency care with a new 10-bed pediatric ER and dedicated pediatric ER waiting room as well as opened Brighton Park Emergency, a new freestanding ER near Nexton. We continue to expand our programs to ensure we are able to provide high quality care close to home.
