The Resource Triage Nurse will provide immediate phone, support, information, clinical guidance, and direction to clients, community, and Empath Health staff. The coordination of information, visits, and services will enhance care provision to our community by assisting the direct care staff in responding to needs rapidly. Utilize assessment, intervention, and teaching skills to maximize comfort and enhance the quality of life. Having an overall knowledge of workflow across the county, the Resource Triage Nurse will assist in distributing the workload throughout all available resources to provide excellent service. Promote continuity of care through the accurate and timely report, and or delivering of messages, and referrals for services to the appropriate staff. Serves as a resource and support to on duty after hours staff, primary staff, auxiliary departments, and is an ambassador to visitors coming into the service center for information, referral, or literature.

• Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
o Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse
o Valid Florida State Driver's License
• Continuing Education: As required for licensure.
• Certifications: Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Minimum of three years nursing experience with at least one (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting preferred.
• Excellent assessment, prioritization, and crisis intervention, and telephone skills.
• The ability to type 25 wpm is highly preferred. Must receive a passing grade on a pre-employment computer literacy evaluation.
• Must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee's HR file.
