Swedish Medical Center, part of HCA's HealthONE, is located in the south metro Denver area where it has been a proud member of the community for more than 110 years. Position Summary: 

The Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) isresponsible for evaluating patients, planning, implementing, and modifying treatment programs for the upper limb, including hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder girdle. In addition to direct patient intervention, the CHT is involved in the education of patient, family, caregivers and staff regarding the patient's functional level. The CHT may participate in student education and other related duties as required or assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  1. Licensure/Certification/Registration:  

Colorado OT license or Colorado PT license and BLS certification from AHA or ARC required. Must have CHT as commissioned by the Hand Therapist Certification Commission, or able to sit for boards within six months of hire.

  1. Education:                                           

Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university.

  1. Experience:  

Hand therapy experience required. Burn therapy experience preferred.

  1. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

Able to perform all evaluations, assessment, and treatment planning required in this position.  Effective verbal and written communication.             

  1. Degree of Supervision Required:

Minimal after proficiency is established.  Individual proceeds on his/her own initiative in compliance with policies, procedures, and practices outlined by immediate supervisor.
