The Integrated Warfare Systems Group (IWSG) focus is to provide engineering, technical and programmatic support to the Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems, Above Water Sensors (PEO IWS 2.0) Directorate. Efforts include overarching program management, test and evaluation, systems engineering, operations analysis, systems integration, international, cyber security, IT network and programmatic support for over 25 PEO IWS 2.0 advanced radar, phased array radar, electronic warfare, electro-optic, advanced off-board electronic warfare/decoy and directed energy programs.
SPA is seeking an Electro-Optical and Infrared (EO/IR) Engineer for employment in our downtown Washington, D.C. office located at 20 M Street, SE.
We are seeking an Electro-Optical and Infrared (EO/IR) Engineer to provide Engineering Support Services (ESS) to the U.S. Navy PEO IWS EO/IR Program Managers. We are looking for a candidate with strong technical EO/IR experience who understands the development and fielding of high performance military EO/IR Systems.
Your EO/IR experience will contribute to key systems engineering and test and evaluation decisions, technical and programmatic briefings, issue papers, summaries, budgets, Request for Proposals and other program and acquisition documentation. We expect you to provide educated advice and deliverables to the level of SPA's highest quality standards—delivered on time, error-free, and suitable for the intended purpose.
The IWSG office is located at 20 M Street in Southeast DC, conveniently down the street from our clients at the Washington Navy Yard. Daily onsite client support at the Navy Yard is expected to aid in the highest quality support. Little to no travel is expected in this position.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related technical degree
- 2+ years of experience working in a technical field supporting EO/IR development
- Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance
- Some unique skill or knowledge to help a Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Program Office (e.g., EO/IR subject matter expertise, Model-Based Systems Engineering, DevSecOps, Agile methodologies, Design Of Experiment, statistics, Modeling & Simulation)
- Test & evaluation experience
- US Navy experience
