DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB TITLE:  Bender Set-Up Technician

DEPARTMENT: Prototype Shop
WAGE RATE: $24.64 - $30.78/hr
SHIFT: 1st OPENINGS: 1

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The person in this position possesses the skills to set-up and develop tube/rod bending programs on the benders at the facility. This would include utilizing quality inspection methods to ensure the product is within specification. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.) Use defined safety practices and procedures.
2.) Select and set-up appropriate tooling to bend tube or rod into required configuration meeting customer specifications.
3.) Program bender to bend tube or rod into required configuration meeting customer specifications.
4.) Utilize inspection methods to verify that tube or rod are bent to customer requirements. These would include, but are not limited to, blackstand/mylar verification and CMM type measurement devices.
5.) Assist in the development of bend tooling.
6.) Assist, as requested, other Tenneco facilities and suppliers with bending issues.
7.) Participate, as requested, on Tenneco Bender CCT or other continuous improvement teams.
8.) Identify needed tooling maintenance.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.) Clean, paint, straighten equipment as needed/directed. (5S)
2.) Identify and retrieve necessary materials to successfully complete job.
3.) Utilize SAP as directed to process materials per process and procedures.
4.) Train additional resources as requested by management.

CRITICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
1.) Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
2.) Must be able to physically lift or move 75 pounds using proper techniques.
3.) Fully qualified model maker. (Muffler and pipe shop)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Varying temperatures (hot to cold)
Fumes at welding stations
Wet slippery floors in some areas

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Extensive standing, walking, upper body twisting, arm and hand motion, some foot motion
Manual dexterity
Manual movement of materials
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs required
Good visual ability

E.  Need for Driving or Travel
On rare or infrequent occasions, the manager may assign a short trip to travel by automobile or commercial carrier to attend meetings, training, conferences, or customer visits or other plants.
