The National Development Director is accountable to drive the growth of client facing employees and teams, and of Wealth Management performance overall, through leading strategic programs and directing the activities of the Regional Development Manager. They will leverage production and performance metrics as well as all the available support resources, coach multiple levels of the organization, and support the senior field leaders in growth related functions.
As leaders of key strategic programs, the National Development Director will identify, prioritize and influence growth and development opportunities. They will champion the programs by leveraging expertise of support resources and field representatives to execute the programs. Strategic programs will primarily focus on delivery and adoption of the ideal practice model for productivity and employee satisfaction and the WM Experience that modernizes the client experience to collaborative, goal-based, and digitally enabled.
This role will have significant influence in the selection and direction of the activities of the Regional Development Managers (RDM). The National Development Directors establish routines with the RDM individually for accountability and performance, as well as across the RDMs for consistency and on-going development.
The National Development Director will help establish and leverage production and performance measures as well as establish Key Performance Indicators with leading and lagging indicators and targets for each over time. Using this information, they will analyze market/region level performance trends and gaps in productivity as well as recommendations to close gaps.
There are multiple levels of coaching provided by this role. This role will coach top WM Advisors/teams who indicate a desire to grow and are active in the coaching process, and will facilitate networking and best practice sharing across top teams. Also, this role will coach and support Regional Managers on the ideal practice and the WM Experience so RMs can succinctly follow up and inspect.
This role also partners with senior executives, field and program leaders on broad growth related functions such as annual planning, national level meeting preparation and support, coordination across support resources, communicating key messages, and overall influencing and aligning to priorities.
FINRA Series 7, 63, 65 or 66, 24 (or 9/10) as well as Life, Variable Life, Health & Disability Insurance.
15 years of experience in Wealth Management or related Financial Services
7+ years in Wealth Management coaching and practice management support
5+ years of experience in project management
Practice Management Program development and Execution
Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Executive presence and credibility to work directly with field senior executives, corporate office leadership and external strategic partners.
Communications with impact, delivering difficult messages, effectively motivating others to implement change.
Coaching the coach, including delivering constructive feedback to help develop and holding accountable for measurable results.
Strong coaching skills, at senior levels, with the ability to co-develop successful business plans for teams.
