Summary of Job Duties: The UAMS College of Pharmacy offers the opportunity to provide excellent pharmacy education in a stimulating academic health center environment where the delivery of superb patient care is integrated with nationally and internationally recognized research. A portion of COP students transitions to the Northwest Campus in Fayetteville to complete the third and fourth professional years, where five faculty members are based. The UAMS COP is home to approximately 125 employees, 300 professional students, 20 graduate students, and 17 pharmacy residents.
Doctoral level degree with primary area in pharmacy or medicine (PharmD, DO, or MD)
Eligible for professional licensure in AR if professional provider
Five (5) years of leadership experience in a managed care/pharmacy benefit management organization
Must have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Sales, marketing, and business development skills/experience
Ten (10) or more years of leadership experience in a managed care/pharmacy benefit management organization
Responsible for establishing the strategic direction of EBRx
Responsible for all EBRx customer relationships.
Oversight of the development, implementation, and operations of EBRx products and services.

Contributes to the academic missions of teaching and research
Applicants are invited for a 12-month faculty appointment as Director of the Evidence-based Prescription Drug (EBRx) Program within the UAMS College of Pharmacy. This non-tenure track position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level. The successful candidate will work within EBRx and have a faculty appointment in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. The successful candidate will provide leadership, set the vision, and develop and cultivate partnerships and customer relationships for EBRx. The successful candidate will be responsible for oversight of the development, implementation, and operations of EBRx products and services. The successful candidate will collaborate with non-client professional trade organizations (e.g., Arkansas Pharmacists Association), regulatory agencies (e.g., State Board of Pharmacy), and internal UAMS partners. This position will also support the educational, scholarship, and service missions of the UAMS College of Pharmacy.
Candidates must hold a terminal clinical doctoral degree in pharmacy or medicine from a program accredited in the United States with five or more years of leadership experience in managed care or pharmacy benefit management. At a minimum, candidates must be eligible for Arkansas pharmacy or medical licensure. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with education and experience.
