Department: ICE | IMSL Behavioral Health
Summary of Job Duties: The Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) serves as a behavioral health provider within the Patient Centered Medical Homes in the UAMS Primary Care Clinics. This position is responsible for providing direct patient/family care, as well as engaging in program development and interdisciplinary team development and additional departmental duties. The BHC functions as an integrated member of the PCMH and assists in managing the overall health of the enrolled population through improved recognition, treatment and management of psychosocial/behavioral problems and psychosocial aspects of medical conditions. BHC providers will demonstrate competency in providing brief evaluations, cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, as well as other evidence-based/evidence informed interventions, to individuals, families and groups, to address behavioral health issues, chronic and acute physical health conditions and substance abuse conditions.
Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology from an accredited program
Advanced Degree, Type/Major: Social Work, Counseling required
Minimum of 2 years experience post- LCSW, LPC exam OR 1 year as UAMS Intern with eligibility for LMSW. LAC exam
Licenses, certificates, or registration
Licensed in the state of Arkansas Dept of Health, Social Work Licensing Board as an LMSW, LCSW or AR Board of Examiners as an LAC, LPC or license eligible
Commensurate with education and experience
