Summary of Job Duties: The Post-Doctoral Fellow is responsible for investigating the unique roles of nuclear receptors and long non-coding RNAs in the liver and pancreatic tissue injuries and carcinogenesis using cell culture and knockout mouse models combined with genome-wide epigenomics and bioinformatics approaches.
The position will come with mentoring support from the principal investigator (PI) for career development. The UAMS is a high-class research institution with a strong commitment to training the next generation of scientists in scientific innovation and discovery. The successful candidate will be in an energetic, inclusive, and productive environment for his/her career development in government, academia, and the biotech industry.

Ph.D, M.D. or equivalent in Biomedical sciences or related field required.

Additional Information:


  • Perform molecular biology techniques and gather results via in vitro and animal experiments.

  • Write manuscripts, protocols, and grants.

  • Help oversee lab personnel and assigned students as required, including training and scheduling. 

  • Participates in procurement, maintenance, and inventory of laboratory equipment/supplies.

  • Oversees staff compliance with the numerous University, State, and Federal guidelines for the safe operation of a laboratory.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.
