Department Description

The Clinical Technologies Department is responsible for managing and maintaining the medical technology used in the delivery of all care to our patients.

Our primary obligation is to ensure the hospital's medical technology is wisely purchased; performs properly, consistently, safely, and is routinely maintained.


Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Technologies Business Manager, the Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting this obligation in a high quality, timely, and cost-effective manner by facilitating the day to day business operations of all Clinical Technologies cost centers and shops.

The analyst is responsible for supporting the departments obligation in a high quality, timely, and cost-effective manner by facilitating the day to day business operations of all Clinical Technologies cost centers and shops.

The analyst is also responsible for computing and analyzing the department's monthly service invoice transactions, reporting budget performance, and oversee the medical center service agreement master list.

Other duties include assisting the procurement team with the daily department purchasing, special projects, and process improvement.


Required Qualifications
  • Two years administrative experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience
  • Basic knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems
  • Acquiring ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize and perform basic financial analysis assignments
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Basic proficiency using spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports
  • Basic interpersonal skills; broad service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Under management guidance, uses organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Work Environment

  • Posts flyers and posters in designated areas only; does not post on walls, doors or windows.
  • Knows where the Environment of Care Manual is kept in department; corrects or reports unsafe conditions to the appropriate departments.
  • Protects the physical environment and equipment from damage and theft.

The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations is required.
