The College of Education and Professional Studies currently has 100 full-time and over 100 part-time faculty organized in seven departments. The college offers 23 undergraduate majors and 28 graduate majors. All teacher education programs are CAEP accredited. Other programs are recognized at the state and national levels with accreditations by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and the Oklahoma Educational Quality and Accountability Commission (OEQA). Teaches, advises and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty.
Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly and/or creative activities as defined by the tenure and promotion policy in the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook. Teaching, research, departmental/school and university service is expected. This position is a full-time, tenure-track position.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
This position requires a candidate who has a passion for teaching and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field. The area of specialization within that field is open, both in terms of clinical expertise and research area. The candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate courses (e.g., research methods, statistics, abnormal psychology) and Master's level courses (e.g., psychopathology, psychological assessment, psychotherapy), as well as supervising students in the UCO Psychology Clinic, a training facility for counseling and school psychology graduate students.
The ideal candidate will be licensed or license-eligible in Oklahoma as a Health Services Psychologist (HSP). They will also be trained in evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment (e.g., cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal therapies, etc.) for various mental health concerns. Additional responsibilities include maintaining an active research program, involving students in research, and serving on committees at the departmental, college, and university level. UCO is a metropolitan university with a focus on undergraduate education and scholarship.
Teaching, research, departmental/school and university service is expected. An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval).

Teaching experience, and a research record.
