How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Project Administrator position in our Tuscaloosa concrete pole manufacturing site. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will become the Voice of the Customer in our fast-paced, highly productive and efficient facility. Additionally, you will…

· Review customer requests and determine pricing for services, materials, and specialized tooling and/or design, issue quotations, understand and work with GM to meet margin requirements

· Interact with customers to clarify and define product specifications and delivery schedule and to resolve any concerns

· Verify internal production, engineering and drafting capabilities, as needed

· Manage multiple priorities while maintain a cooperative and objective attitude

· Generate weekly reports on quotes tendered and work closely with those responsible to prioritize production scheduling

· Develop shipping plans and load schedules to meet customer's delivery requirements

· Provide accurate quoting and shipping data to Accounting and help develop Sales Forecasts

· Lead Weekly Project Meetings to keep forecasts and reports accurate and ensure deadlines are met

What it takes

Required Qualifications

· Function as main point of contact for all customer interaction

· Strong deadline focus with ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

· Strong communication, interpersonal relationship building and organization skills

· Process customer quotes, identifies and documents customer specifications

· Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and discretion

· Handle order entry including working closely with accounting, production, management to confirm accuracy of quotations, scheduling, invoicing

· Liaise daily with sales, purchasing, accounting, production and shipping departments to ensure customer deadlines are met

· Prepare shipping documents and arrange trucking logistics

· Assist in resolving customer concerns regarding special requests, quality and on-time delivery

· Demonstrate proven ability to work well with others

· Demonstrate professional poise and diplomacy in daily interactions

· Must be a person of integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

· Bachelor Degree or combination of project administration and/or inside sales and/or customer service experience and education

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

· Professional handling of incoming calls and e-mails related primarily, but not limited to order placement, price, value add & delivery

· Math skills, specifically add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate fractions & mixed numbers

· Minimum 3 years project administration or customer service work

· Requires oral and written communication skills, ability to prioritize, and multitask

· Root cause analysis capability and driver to continuously improve processes

· Microsoft Outlook and personal computer use

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor Degree in Business, Economics

· PMP Certification or working knowledge of fundamental project management concepts such as Gantt charts and scheduling milestones

· Working knowledge of fundamental commercial concepts such as Terms and Conditions, Contracts and Specifications

· Working knowledge of fundamental technical and manufacturing concepts such as load and configuration drawings and shop drawings

· College coursework in areas of building computer skills proficiency, math, statistics, and/or accounting, a plus.

· Ability to master in-house computer applications
