Valmont's Internal Audit team is a diverse group looking for strategic thinkers, motivated self-starters, and analytical problem-solvers by offering career path options within Internal Audit and Valmont's business units. This position provides the opportunity to work with individuals and cultures across the globe. Under the supervision of the Director IT Audit, the IT Audit Intern assists in detailed audit reviews of computer information systems to support Valmont's annual internal audit plan and other projects. The IT Audit Intern is responsible for assisting other team members in planning, designing, conducting, and reporting the results of IT audit projects to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls around IT systems and applications for regulatory compliance and best practices. Essential Functions: Assist in the development of audit plans, facilitation of process interviews, documentation of company processes and procedures, identification of risk and controls, execution of internal control testing, completion of project review procedures, and communication of audit findings Assist in evaluating the adequacy of management's corrective actions taken for IT audit findings Assist in advisory work for key processes or projects being implemented consisting of risk and control assessments Build effective relationships and meet shared objectives within internal audit and management Assist in extracting, compiling, formatting, and sampling test data from a range of accounting and ERP application systems Assist in the completion of IT general control audit procedures used by external auditors Applying Valmont policies, procedures, rules, regulations, laws, best practices, and principles of ethical behavior to all work performed Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): · Junior or Senior level student in MIS, Computer Science, Auditing, Accounting, Finance, or other relevant degree · Excellent English communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills · Excellent computer skills to include all Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook · Ability to use independent judgment and discretion requiring minimum supervision · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment subject to specific deadlines · Ability to work effectively in a team environment · Demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications: · Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or greater · Advanced knowledge and use of Excel, Visio, Access, and related macros and database Benefits: · Great opportunity to gain career related course work experience from an industry leader · Paid Internship – Valmont values you · Potential development into a regular full-time position · Flexible full-time day shift hours · A thriving culture in a growing business Working Environment and Physical Efforts: Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
