The Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking candidates for Director of the Transplant & Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. This position reports to the Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and an established track record of leadership and experience in the care of immunocompromised patients including transplant recipients. Clinician-educators or physician-scientists are eligible. Board certified in Infectious Diseases is required.

This role includes leading the growth of the Transplant & Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases Program, providing clinical inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases care, and engaging in scholarly activities (such as research, mentoring, and teaching). Strong communication and administrative skills are important. This role requires close collaboration with medical and surgical transplant teams for both patient care and administrative duties. The Director will foster an environment for learning and growth within the transplant ID program, which includes a dedicated one-year transplant ID fellowship.

VUMC is currently the fifth largest transplant center in the US, the largest heart transplant program in the world, and the largest heart-lung program in the US. The Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center leads the Southeast in using immunotherapy and cellular therapy for treating cancer and we perform more stem cell transplants than most places in the nation.
