Linen Technician

The Linen Technician is responsible for stocking clean linen carts with the appropriate par levels, delivering clean linen carts to units/floors in a timely fashion. Responsible for classification of clean linen. Responsible for back-up coverage and for assisting in the training of new coworkers as required. Responsible for unloading all Commercial Laundry carts, placing linen neatly on clean designated shelves. Responsible for loading/unloading commercial laundry truck. Responsible for picking up soiled linen from units on a scheduled basis and loading carts for delivery to laundry.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year of hotel/hospital experience preferred


  • Linen and scrub carts are filled correctly, and according to schedule.
  • Linen carts are delivered accurately in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Entries in the Linen Pick-up Log are made consistently, accurately, and in a timely fashion.
  • Complies with bed tracking procedure to ensure a smooth turnaround of beds.
  • Laundry truck is unloaded promptly upon arrival. Linen is weighed, the weight recorded and information given to Operations Manager. Truck is reloaded for return.
  • Employee is familiar with the infection control policies and procedures and adheres to them. Linen that has fallen on the floor is placed in the rewash cart to be processed again. Cross contamination is minimized. Proper procedure followed when picking up soiled linen from units.
