Description

Role Summary:

· Supporting the installation of R&D structure and workflow in the EPC Chattanooga

· Developing/designing and releasing basic interior component changes (CAD data and drawing updates)

· Localizing Interior components in NAR

· Serving as a liaison between the process partners for interior engineering in Chattanooga and the interior engineering in the R&D departments in Wolfsburg/Osnabrueck, Germany, Puebla, Mexico and the plant requirements

Providing responsive support of R & D Wolfsburg in all areas potentially harming or delaying the maintenance, launch, and ramp up of vehicles in Chattanooga
Role Responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities – (95%)

· Contact for all technical issues regarding interior components of the cars build in Chattanooga

• Participate and present in Chattanooga meetings (Cubing, Top-Q, CFT, Technikgespraech, …)

· Plan and implement all technical changes for current interior components:

• Write technical change request in AVON and create graphical documentation as attachment

• Support supplier to get changes implemented

• CAD model, drawing and PDM change and release parts in KVS/Connect (B/K-release)

• Release BMG test results in KVS

· Provides technical support for vehicle launches in Chattanooga plant. (new launches and model care)

• Participate and present in Chattanooga meetings (Cubing, P-team, Technik-team, Launch-team, CFT, Fachgruppen-meeting, …)

• Support supplier for timely implementation

· Evaluates and implements part cost saving ideas (FMK/PKO process)

· Coordinates or supports testing for pre-series / series components and systems

Supplier Process and Evaluation – (5%)

· Support localization efforts by evaluating suppliers' technical competencies.



Requirements

  • 1-3 years in automotive development
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent required
  • Master's Degree in Engineering desired
Skills: General

· Computer savvy – skilled in the use of software (MS-Applications, first experience with Catia V5, …)

· Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering

· Basic knowledge of hard and soft polymer part processes (injection molding, thermo forming, extrusion, …)

· Basic knowledge of automotive interior part assembly (GD&T, RPS system, …)

· Basic knowledge of the CAD filing and release system KVS

· Basic knowledge of automotive engineering

· Basic knowledge of interior automotive parts

Skills: desired

· Knowledge in project management

· Basic knowledge in the VW development Process (PEP)

Basic German language skills - written and verbal


W Work Flexibility:


· Domestic and international business trips required (R&D centers in Wolfsburg and/or Puebla, and suppliers in NA and Europe)

Readiness for professional trainings in Germany (for a longer training period)
