Role Summary:

  • Relationship between the process partners in Chattanooga R&D, Production, Pilot Hall, Logistic, Quality Assurance or other different departments in Wolfsburg/Germany or other different brands/departments/plants for example Puebla/Mexico.
  • Responsible for a responsive support of R&D and Production in all areas potentially harming or delaying the launch and ramp of new vehicle in Chattanooga.
  • Support for installation of R&D structure and workflow in Chattanooga

Role Responsibilities:

Qualification of and support for the Technical Center (TC) as well as execution concerning - (45%) · Prepares the vehicle approval according to the Press car guidelines for and after its first operation · Prepares the vehicle approval according to the Press car guidelines after A and A+ reprocessing treatment (in the regional TCs) · Provides technical support during press events · Interfaces between the relationship from Wolfsburg, Chattanooga and the TCs · Audits the TCs concerning the quality of the reprocessing treatments · Audits the retailer/NAVS concerning the quality of the reprocessing treatments Prepare and operates the static, dynamic vehicle appraisal and test-/ comparison drives - (30%) · Prepares the vehicle approval according to the Press car guidelines for and after its first operation · Prepares the vehicle approval according to the Press car guidelines after A and A+ reprocessing treatment (in the regional Chattanooga) · Appraises vehicles according to specified guidelines Controls the press-workshop-teams – (15 %) · Generates shop orders · Talks through the complaints of the vehicle appraisal drives with workshop staff and scheduling the removal · Approves the work carried out according to shop orders Coordinates with other plants/ locations – (10 %)
  • Adjusts the required topics for press vehicle treatment
  • Supports in generating the specification sheets for the particular plans/locations
  • Appraises of the press vehicles in the particular plans/locations



5 - 7 years in automotive industry

Diploma or BE in Engineering and Bachelor required

Master in Engineering desired

Knowledge of relevant automobile engineering knowledge like
  • Engineering support at building of Production Reference Whole Vehicles and make sure further updates
  • Permanent reporting of the Whole Vehicles, especially to R&D departments
  • Interface to Production, Quality Assurance, Pilot Hall and Logistic and Customer Service
  • Support for analysis at customer complaints
  • Knowledge about production process
  • Tracking of critical Customer complaints for transferring into rework actions on special cars
  • Permanent production checks in close collaboration with Quality Assurance
  • Special automotive knowledge from press/ show or special car preparation or similar areas
  • To do videoconferences with responsible departments
  • To train new local staff as Press Car specialist
  • Escalation in the direction IT-Wolfsburg


  • Experience in the co-operation with VW development department(s)
  • Experience in the VW development process (PEP)
  • Experience in project management

Work Flexibility:

  • Readiness for domestic and international business trips, for example to visit suppliers/ VW location in the US, Germany, Mexico or the R&D-Center in Wolfsburg
  • Readiness for professional trainings in Germany/Mexico (for a longer training period)
