Role Summary: The Business Development Manager is the primary contact between Ducati Financial Services and its dealer clients. This home-based position is responsible for developing the retail, wholesale and ancillary business for Ducati dealers across a large geographical area. Dealer contact will be done in-person, as well as by phone and email. This role supports dealers in the Eastern Region and will be home-based, preferably in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia or Florida. Role Responsibilities: Main responsibilities – 95 % of time spent

  • Promote and sell retail, wholesale and ancillary product offerings of Ducati Financial Services. Achieve penetration and volume targets assigned to these KPIs.
    • Familiarize dealers with DFS's policies, procedures, forms and finance plans. Provide training and support for the retail and ancillary programs. Hold sales meetings as needed.
    • Counsel Dealers on a continuing basis to ensure F&I best practices and processes are adhered to
    • Review monthly sales penetration and account performance with the dealer and finance manager/business manager. Review latest retail programs with the sales and finance departments
    • Establish retail financing & ancillary product objectives for assigned dealers each year in support of the DFS business plan. Provide periodic reports on status vs. objective.
    • Update sales activities using salesforce.com
  • Maintain account management responsibility and cognizance over DFS's secured wholesale assets; including new and used motorcycles, parts, tools, furniture, fixtures, etc., while also providing follow-up on vehicle audits to ensure that discrepancies and exceptions are cleared.
    • Resolve wholesale related problems, including payment delinquency, billing errors, inventory discrepancies, etc.
    • Continuously monitor the financial position of existing wholesale accounts. Ensure that dealers are within DFS's financial requirements.
    • Counsel Dealers on a continuing basis, to ensure compliance with operating standards and specific approval contingencies.
    • Initiate the development of credit package requests and the coordination of documentation necessary for the adjustment in floor lines as needed to support current sales activity.
    • Assist in wholesale takeovers, equity verifications and other team activities as required to optimize the region's performance.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with Management. Act as the primary liaison between the various corporate elements of Ducati Financial Services and the dealer organization.
  • Provide constant feedback to DFS management, including collection of information and programs from key competitors. Data to be submitted on an on-going basis to ensure DFS's competitive position.
  • Support DFS Manager, Sales Operations as required
Additional responsibilities – 5% of time spent
  • Develop and maintain an effective ongoing business relationship with local Ducati North America sales teams to ensure accomplishment of mutual goals and objectives, and meet DFS customer satisfaction objectives
  • Stay cognizant of financial industry trends and competitive developments.
  • Update sales activities using salesforce.com
  • Responsibly manage assigned budget


Requirements

Experience: Required
  • 7-10 years of work experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional field sales, marketing or credit related experience within the automotive or motorcycle industry
Education:
  • Required – Bachelor's degree
  • Desired – Master's degere

Work Flexibility:
  • This position requires extensive travel, about 70% or more
    • Frequent overnight travel required
