Role Summary:

The Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Technician facilitates the execution of internal and external projects that provide Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) services. Under the direct supervision and guidance of the InfoSec GRC Manger in the Information Security team, and in close collaboration with our team members, the Technician will perform activities related to Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning services across the enterprise technology landscape. This role has tremendous learning opportunity as they will collaborate with key business partners and IT teams to support building, sustaining and improving the capability to prepare for, respond to and recover from hazards including cyber-attacks. The BC/DR Technician will be primary contact for plan development, training and exercising developed plans, implementing the use of technology for emergency use and partnership with internal and external partners.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Provide business continuity consulting, guidance, and recommendations
  • Manage, support and coordinate BC/DR projects including planning, maintenance, training, and drill exercises.
  • Perform assessments and gap analysis of organizational BC/DR plans
  • Assist in the definitions and reviews of BC/DR vision, strategy, processes and plans
  • Perform risk assessment, develop and recommend solutions to manage and mitigate the identified continuity risks
  • Provide emergency management technical expertise for plan writing and project management.
  • Administer the enterprise-wide employee notification system, including partnership integration and enhancement identification and development.
  • Assist in the design, development and implementation of recovery solutions
  • Develop, review and maintain BC/DR documentation
  • Develop and provide BC/DR knowledge transfer and training
  • Plan, facilitate and coordinate the execution of BC/DR tabletop and functional fail-over exercises, or other types of BC/DR test exercises
  • Assist with the planning for BC/DR audits, provide support during the audit and help with the implementation of the audits recommendations and remediation
  • Define and compile monthly service reports, including support metrics
  • Provide support in case of continuity incidents
  • Provide recommendations for BC/DR continuous improvement activities




Requirements

Experience: Required
  • 3-5 years of experience
Education: Required
  • B.S. in Information Technology, Computer Science (or related field)
Desired
  • Advanced Degree a plus

Specialized Skills:

Required
  • Entry-level or collegiate experience with business continuity or disaster recovery
  • Strong ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
Desired
  • Familiarity with ITIL or SANS processes helpful
  • BC certifications CBCI, CBCP, EDRP, CBCM or other relevant Certifications are a major plus
Work Flexibility:
  • Travel 10% of the time
  • Flexibility to work outside of core hours (Monday – Friday) to support business demand
