Job Summary

  • This position is part of the Technical Program Management (TPM) Team of VWGoA's Engineering and Environmental Office (EEO). EEO is responsible for tasks related to Emissions Certification, On-Board Diagnostics (OBD), In-Use Testing, Compliance Reporting, Regulatory Affairs and Defect Reporting. TPM is a support function for the other technical teams. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining all (Compliance) Management Systems on Business Unit level and is first point of contact for Compliance Management Officers and QMS Specialist. The position is responsible to prepare and represent EEO during internal and external audits.  

Job Responsibilities


  Compliance Management Systems (85%)
  • Facilitates the creation and maintenance of all required Management Systems on department level, including Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Compliance Management System (EMS/ECMS) and Product Compliance Management System (PCMS)
  • Integrates and aligns existing Management Systems with new systems including identification of synergies
  • Prepares all required Management System elements according to the applicable ISO and VW Group standard (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, PS980)
  • Observes the role as “Area Quality Management Coordinator (AQMC)” and “PCMS Lead“ for EEO and is first point of contact for Compliance Management Officers and QMS Specialist.
  • Communicates new and changed requirements to business unit aligns content with EEO Teams/Management
  • Reviews and approves all process related documents to ensure compliance with Management System requirements
  • Identifies Risks in process documents
  • Leads and documents EEO internal Compliance Management System Review Meetings
  • Escalates Product and Environmental Compliance related issues to applicable Officer
  • Trains EEO teams in Management System requirements
  • As needed, supports other VWGoA Engineering Departments in setting up Management Systems
  • Support and guide Test Center in Allendale, NJ as well as EEOs Workshop in Auburn Hills, MI with implementation of ECMS requirements 
  Audits (15%)
  • Prepares internal and external audits including all required documents, presentation materials and prep-sessions with EEO teams for Management System and technical audits
  • Lead role in representing EEO in audits
  • Tracks and oversees the implementation of corrective actions from internal/external audits
  • Supports the development of EEO's annual internal Review and Assessment Plan to ensure that Risk Mitigation Strategies, Management Controls and all Compliance Management System requirements have been followed appropriately
  • Supports the execution of EEOs Internal Assessments


Required Experience

  • 5 years of professional experience in automotive industry

Required Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a technical field

Desired Degree

  • Master's Degree

Required Skills

  • Project management, responsible for completion of timelines and content fulfillment
  • Ability to track, monitor and coordinate anticipated and on-going matters within the different stakeholders of the organization
  • Experience with QMS (ISO 9001:2015) or EMS (ISO 14001:2015)
  • Experience as auditor or as audited entity
  • ISO 9001:2015 Coordinator Certificate
  • Knowledge Risk Management
  • Experience with Microsoft VISIO
  • Process flow, work instructions and procedures elaboration skills

Desired Skills

  • German language skills

  • ISO Internal Auditor Certificate

  • Experience with PCMS (Product Compliance Management Systems)

Work Flexibility

  • Domestic or International Travel as need ~ up to 15% (2-7 day durations)  
  • Workload occasionally requires additional hours beyond a normal work schedule.
