The office of Digital Transformation & Impact is part of the Waste Management's Digital organization. Our mission is to act as a trusted adviser to key executives partnering in strategic, creative and adaptive ways to future proof and grow our business. As a member of DTI you will identify opportunities that align with our digital strategy, define transformational success, and measure the impact of our digital investments.
We are currently seeking a Digital Manager to drive our efforts related to business impact realization.

The Digital Manager is critical to keeping our business looking forward by innovating and building sustainable success. Taking a data driven approach, this individual will partner with stakeholders across the business to define and align on what successfully executing our digital strategy and delivering our transformation initiatives looks like.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.
- Facilitate collaborative working sessions helping leaders from across the business draw clear linkages between initiatives and overall digital strategy defining impact and financial targets
Establish and maintain effective reporting frameworks and KPI monitoring mechanisms
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to help generate and refine ideas for new digital initiatives and concepts the business is vetting
Support the development of the enterprise technology and data strategy in close collaboration with the respective business and Digital team members
Understand and analyze the business strategy with regard to its implication on data and the usage/application of technology
Identify areas where the application of technology in the short to long term future will drive significant value to (e.g. revenue growth, efficiencies, speed to market, enabling new business models)
Develop target data and technology state based on the needs, availability, and applicable technology
Analyze the current state of WMs data and technology environment including the near-term plans
Develop a roadmap to advance to the agreed target state
Develop the underlying value case/case for change
Support gaining the organizational approval for the proposed data and technology strategy and the respective roadmap and value case
Support the business in developing the overlaying capability models (people, process, tools, data) for the data and technology strategy:
Creation of appropriate capability models
Identification of key gaps in the capabilities
Development of strategies on how to close these gaps and how data and technology can support this
Development of respective business cases, plans, and roadmaps
Advise the respective business teams on new technology and data trends and their applicability to WM's business in the near, mid, and long term.
Work closely with Digital managers and their business counterparts to support them with the development/renewal of their:
Strategic Vision for their functional area
Data and technology strategy for their functional area
1-3 year roadmap to implement that data and technology strategy
Business cases to support the strategy
Metrics and KPIs to measure the success of their data and technology strategy
Ensure that the functional data and technology strategies are fully aligned with the enterprise digital strategy as well as the enterprise business strategy
Advise the digital and business teams with regard to new data and technology trends and their application to their data and technology strategies
Keep up to date on data and technology trends and advancements in technology
Keep up to date on strategic trends within other areas like methodologies, operating models, governance, etc.
Support VP and Director of DTI by performing ad hoc projects and research on industry and digital trends
Engage with WMs Senior and Executive Management across all functional areas to develop data and technology strategies, concepts, roadmaps, and plans in close alignment with and to enable WMs Business Strategy.
Work closely with WMs leadership on the development of the data and technology strategies and roadmaps within their respective areas. Provide insights and applicable usage ideas for new data, technologies or technology trends to Digital and Business Leadership.
Support the Digital and business leadership in gaining buy-in and support for their strategies from the Executive team.

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience.
MBA or Advanced Degree Preferred
- 5-7 years experience in strategy consulting (business or strategy)
- 5-7 years experience in developing data and/or technology strategies (IT, Digital)
- 3-5 years of strategy experience in the digital space (e.g. eComm, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT, Mobility, cloud)
- 3-5 years successfully managing strategy projects
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
The candidate must have a broad knowledge/understanding ideally combined with some experience across the following topics
Proven ability to create quantitative management frameworks and drive a data-driven culture in the organization
Technology including infrastructure, cloud, applications in the corporate, supply chain, manufacturing, and commercial space
Digital technology including ML, AI, MarTech, Analytics, eComm, and Digital Asset Management
Capability models for digital and non-digital businesses
Operating and governance models with regard to technology and digital
Key methodologies within IT (e.g. waterfall, agile, design thinking, enterprise architecture, cloud architecture)
The candidate must have a demonstrated ability:
Think strategically and provide data and technology leadership
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven track record of delivering strategies, concepts, business and value cases in an environment with multiple competing priorities and multiple product lines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Demonstrated ability to work across multiple business functions, across all levels including executives
Possess strong communication, presentation and relationship skills at a senior management/executive level
