Xilinx is currently seeking a full-time commercial transactions attorney to work at Xilinx's corporate headquarters in San Jose, CA. This position reports to the Director, Legal, Global Commercial & Products Group. A qualified candidate for this position will be an experienced business attorney with the ability to independently draft, review, revise, negotiate, and advise senior management on issues associated with a wide variety of commercial agreements including inbound and outbound software and technology license agreements, development agreements, inbound and outbound hardware supply agreements, services agreements, NDAs, and other legal agreements, in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree.

  • Must be admitted to practice law in California, or satisfy California requirements for a registered in-house counsel.

  • 5-8 years of experience in the practice of law, as a licensed attorney, with law firm and/or in-house counsel experience, emphasizing complex commercial transactions and intellectual property licensing.

  • Experience advising on open source legal issues desired.

  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiating skills.

  • Strong business judgment, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving skills.

  • Must be comfortable interacting with engineers and explaining legal risks and implications to various non-lawyer client groups.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Dedicated, organized and able to prioritize and multitask well in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, dynamic and highly team-oriented.

  • Superior writing and oral communication skills.

Education Requirements

Juris Doctor degree.



Years of Experience

5-8 years of experience in the practice of law, as a licensed attorney, with law firm and/or in-house counsel experience, emphasizing complex commercial transactions and intellectual property licensing.
