This is an exciting time to be part of the Technical Documentation and Localization team at Xilinx as we work to transform the user experience of technical documentation for our customers. As part of our global Technical Documentation and Localization team, this position will assist in the writing, editing, and production of technical documentation for Xilinx products. Candidate must have strong editorial and organizational skills to ensure documentation produced complies with Xilinx and departmental standards and technical English guidelines. Ability to quickly understand and use Xilinx tools as required. Work closely with Sr. Staff Technical Writers to manage documentation projects with internal customers. Working environment is fast-paced, high-demand, multiple-deadline driven. Experience with Xilinx products desirable. 

Successful candidates will be independent, collaborative, motivated, and focused on both user experience and technical documentation processes. 

Job Requirements  


Seeking a technical writer with strong time and project management skills and the ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines and projects. Must be passionate about information structure, content, and delivery. Must work successfully with internal customers to foster positive working relationships among engineering, marketing, and product applications groups. 

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years experience in technical documentation in a similar environment. Candidate must have FrameMaker and Acrobat skills. DITA, Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint skills a plus.

Experience/Education

Required:

  • 5-8years of technical writing experience in a high tech field
  • Experience managing multiple writing projects to different deadlines at the same time
  • Experience working directly with SMEs
  • Experience following multiple style/writing guidelines
  • BA/BS in English, journalism, technical communication, or a related technical field; a university-issued certificate in technical communication is also acceptable
