Come join Zulily's Acquisition Management Platform team! We're focused on growing Zulily's customer base. We accomplish this by building state-of-the-art tech that makes digital advertising more efficient at scale by doing things like allocating advertising budgets efficiently and finding customers who love to shop with Zulily. Some of the cool projects we're working on include automating the creation of ads from Zulily's highly dynamic product catalog and building systems to optimize bidding on ad inventory.  

What you'll be doing 
  • Designing, building, and maintaining robust and performant APIs, services, and systems in Java and Python 

  • Implementing user-friendly (internal facing) UI tools with Angular and TypeScript 

  • Working with a tech stack that includes MongoDB, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, AWS SQS, AWS Kinesis, AWS Lambda, and Kubernetes 

  • Writing readable, maintainable, and well tested code 

  • Working cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, and business teams to turn ambiguous problems into revenue- and profit-generating solutions 

  • Debugging production issues across services at all levels of the stack 

  • Leading and participating in system design and code reviews 

  • Teaching and mentoring engineers who are earlier in their careers 

What we look for in you 
  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience 

  • Strong experience designing and implementing robust solutions to ambiguous problems at high scale 

  • Strong knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases  

  • Comfort working with Java, Python, & TypeScript 

  • Excellent written communication skills 

Nice to haves 
  • Software development experience in online advertising 

  • Experience working with or building Machine Learning pipelines 

  • Expertise in Java and/or Python 

  • Experience with AWS 

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB, Spark, Airflow, Angular, and TypeScript 

  • Experience with streaming data solutions (Kafka, Kinesis, etc…)
