About the job

This position is accountable to facilitate, lead and provide support and direction for all activities related to achieving the Reliability Excellence (REX) target state at Massena Operations. The principal challenge is to provide project management skills and leadership in support of the Leadership and Focus teams implementing REX. This position is also the principal contact with Asset Management CoE at both regional and global levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide project management support and leadership to Massena teams as we undertake the REX journey.
  • Act as the principal contact with CoE and Asset Management experts
  • Support and coordinate activities and communication between plant focus teams and leadership team. Facilitate, support and encourage communication and sharing between teams at Massena.
  • Coordinates and communicates all initiative activities with all levels of the organization ensuring that assignments resulting from focus and leadership teams activities are executed in a timely manner.
  • Facilitates leadership/focus team meetings as necessary.
  • Maintain the overall REX gap action plan for Massena.
  • Ensures that proper correspondence is generated for all meetings and compiles program status, issues, barriers, and progress to objectives, goals and milestones met.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate REX initiative results in the form of standard reports, business unit updates, monthly reports, or other forms as necessary.
  • Leadership and provide direction in the area of Operational Excellence and OEE implementation at the Massena.
  • Be an agent of change through the REX journey.
  • Be a quick leaner of the target state, take learnings and teach each role in our maintenance organization their role and demonstrate (walk the walk) how to run our organization utilizing the new tools and systems.
  • Backfill for multiple positions in the maintenance organization (Maintenance Process Flow Leader, Engineer Leader, Lead Planner and the Maintenance Manager)

Combinations of education or military service and industrial manufacturing experience:

  • 4-year degree and 2 years of industrial manufacturing leadership experience; or
  • 2-year associates degree and 4 years of industrial manufacturing experience; or
  • High school diploma or GED with 8 years of industrial manufacturing experience
Additional Qualifications:
  • Ability to influence and communicate across the spectrum of the workforce (i.e. management to operators and maintainers)
  • 8 years of increasing responsibility in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • Computer literacy; MS office and related packages. MS Excel is important
  • Results-focused aptitude.
  • Strong work ethic to deliver safe, clean and efficient maintenance.
  • Strong communicator, ability to train others and speak in front of an audience
  • Must be self-motived and a problem solver
