THE ROLE:

We are a Test Engineering team providing solutions for New Product Introduction (NPI). We do exciting product development for leading-edge technology that will power the next generation processors used for high performance desktops and mobile computing. As a Product Development Engineer, you will experience working with and learning from AMD's talented engineering teams around the world – design, platform, packaging, device analysis among others. You will learn the ins and outs of the microprocessor and how to harness it to produce the highest performance at the highest quality. You will be challenged to come up with innovative and creative ways to solve the complex problems that come with developing products using the latest technologies.

THE PERSON:

We are looking for someone with the will to overcome challenging problems and strong appetite for technical knowledge. We want someone with a solid foundation in Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) development for test content and test program. A results-oriented engineer with good stakeholder management skills which are crucial when interfacing with various teams across AMD. A strong and effective communicator, both verbal and written, which are essential when working with a global team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with design, validation, and architecture teams for IP content coverage, test pattern development, validation, and debug
• Develop test program infrastructure incorporating latest Best-Known Methods
• Validate new product features, test conditions, test methodologies, and test contents during first silicon bring-up
• Perform silicon characterization across process, voltage, and temperature
• Perform test program correlation and release for high volume production
• Drive Key Performance Indicators such as test time reduction, yield debug, and quality improvement across products
• Support qualification activities and customer return debug

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• More than 7 years of experience in semiconductor product development
• Experience with ATE test program and pattern development – Advantest 93K preferred
• Experience with ATE loadboard design is a plus
• ATPG scan pattern development experience; Experience with Mentor, Synopsys, or Cadence EDA tools is a plus
• Familiar with concepts surrounding JTAG, BIST, or HSIO
• Proficient in software programming and scripting languages (C, C++, Java, Ruby, Perl, Python)
• Knowledgeable in version control tools (Git, SVN, CVS)
• Knowledgeable in statistical analysis
• Proficient in Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems
• Knowledgeable in modern computer architecture
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS/MS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or comparable disciplines
