Senior Manager RTL Design / PMTS

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Senior Manager RTL Design to lead a team of talented engineers in developing next generation scalable coherent interconnect to provide connectivity between CPU, GPU and special purpose accelerators. The Infinity Fabric is part of every new AMD product being developed across Client, Server, Graphics, and Semi-Custom markets. We are seeking an experienced RTL Design Leader/Manager with strong technical and leadership skills, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, to lead a talented team of engineers. THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate has experience leading others in technical and managerial settings. You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design as well as design quality. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills, strong analytical & problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. A global mindset and ability to work in a multi-site environment are keys to being successful in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Manage and mentor a team of uArchitects and RTL design engineers working on Coherent Fabric IP design, providing technical guidance and feedback
• Define and implement RTL design methodologies and best practices
• Lead team, meet schedule commitments and provide strong support to various customers.
• Early architectural/performance exploration through micro-architectural definition and design
• Participate in post silicon functional and performance debug and tuning.
• Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on project status and issues

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 15+ years of experience in RTL design of IPs and 5+ years of experience in managing RTL design teams.
• A strong leader with proven track record of cross-functional collaboration as well as hands-on IP development, IP project engineering management.
• Strong commitment to own/drive IP project development using well-defined metrics.  Work with PM team on execution planning, to track quality metrics, milestone convergence, to assess risk, and ensure plan is on track.
• Strong communications skills with ability to summarize complex problems for executives as well as drill down to details with architects and engineers.
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills
• Prior experience in development and verification of RTL design, including Low Power feature implementation.
• Strong understanding of multi-processor coherency, memory ordering, i/o ordering, interrupts, MMU and caches
• Working knowledge of x86 or ARM ISA is a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BTECH/BE/BS, MTECH/ME/MS, or PhD degree in Electrical or Computer engineering. Advance degree preferred.
