We have a challenging opportunity for a Director of Security based out of our Springfield Gardens, NY office.

Job Summary:  

The Director of Security is responsible for day to day oversight of all security programs, identifying and sharing best practices and lessons learned, advising on security systems and technology matters and serving as a resource for all levels of BGS Leadership in the United States.  The incumbent will support and manage all aspects of incident /internal investigations related to security process and integrity as necessary.  This position will work closely with Brink's Ground Armored to proactively address security gaps/issues related to interdepartmental logistics. 

Salary Range: 130k-165k

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with, advise, and provide oversight support to BGS US Location leaders in all matters related to physical security, process integrity, risk management and the overall protection of Company and Customer assets, in compliance with the BGS Operations Manual, the Global Security standards and Country Security standards.
  • Manage losses for the division and create/implement strategic solutions in partnership with location leadership and their staff.
  • Manage loss investigations & reporting and coordinate with Business Partners and Local, State and Federal law enforcement authorities to resolve cases.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the potential risks and deliver security training and security audits to minimize the risks to all location staff and leadership.
  • Implement standardized specifications for CCTV, premise alarms, protective systems, vaults, safes and coordinate upgrades where required to maintain adequate levels of protection of employees and customers' assets.
  • Work closely with all members of Division leadership on process integration projects to improve the service levels BGS is providing to its customers throughout the domestic network.
  • Maintain close cooperation with the different departments (IT, CSR, Branch Managers) to ensure that processes are consistently lean and efficient and do not compromise security/create risk of any kind.
  • Act as strategic partner to other members of BGS security team and work closely with leadership to ensure BGS US processes/operations and security measures are consistent with vision, direction and quality expectations of the Company as a whole.
  • Continuous review/ audit of standards/ processes and procedures within all LOB's.
  • Fore mentioned specifically applies to the US storage locations; whereby the BGS US CPI/Audit team will report to the US Security leader and compliance with processes and procedures is critical in maintaining full control on the customer's inventories, preventing losses.
  • Include Airport-/ Seaport-/ Branch audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience evaluating security risk and managing process to ensure optimal loss prevention.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • A current & valid driver's license.
  • Satisfy all applicable Department of Transportation requirements.
  • A valid weapons permit or ability to pass applicable weapons licensing requirements.
  • 21 years of age.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule with a wide range of hours including but not limited to weekends and where necessary holidays.
  • The role includes travel within the US and subcontracted countries under responsibility of BGS US

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with internal Brink's proprietary/commercial business software packages i.e. BITS, Garcia etc.
  • Knowledge of tactical security operations.
  • Expert knowledge of logistical operations, products, services, policies, and procedures, in addition to a familiarity of the customers and the industries serviced.
  • Track record of driving collaboration and maintaining open communications with both internal teams and external/internal customers
  • Bachelor's Degree in business and 5-10 years of transferrable operations/business experience.
