JOB PURPOSE Facilitates the professional development of teachers with a focus on improving student achievement     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates positive, professional relationships with teachers and administrators
  • Communicates and demonstrates instructional practices that result in increased student performance
  •  Provides individualized, classroom-based coaching with teachers to support them in implementing sound instructional practices
  • Provides organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers as needed
  • Provides support in analyzing student assessment data
  • Assists teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data
  • Provides support in the form of mentorship, or co-teaching to convey effective classroom management strategies
  • Provides teachers resources related to curriculum and instruction
  • Models effective instruction when needed
  • Initiates the Collaborative Observation Process by scheduling observations, collecting evidence related to the Danielson Framework, and leading reflection conferences
  • Attends RFT/SST Team, Campus and District meetings/trainings as directed
  • Assists and/or coordinates the implementation and interpretation of a comprehensive needs assessment with Administration and Federal Programs Director

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid NC Teaching Certificate
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 3-5 years experience as a classroom teacher with evidence of student data as proof of effectiveness
  • 3-5 years experience as Instructional Coach in K-12 environment
  • Trained in the Danielson Framework for Teaching (Introduction & Observation Skills)
  • Trained in the Learning Focused Conversation Method

 

  WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the responsibilities of this position, the work environment characteristics listed below are representative of the environment the employee will encounter:

  • Usual office working conditions.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Travel within or outside of state.
  • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA.

 

 

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

 

 

EVALUATION

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Charter Schools USA's policy.
