As an employee in our branch, this position's role will be to cultivate our vision and cultural commitments while championing continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Integrated Services, the Technology Systems Coordinator will be responsible for managing and providing all of the technology and telecommunications needs within the Parks and Roads Services Branch of City Operations. This will include computers, mobile devices, desk phones, cell phones, printers, supporting accessories and other emerging technologies. This position will ensure the right devices are available when staff need the tools to efficiently do their jobs, in the most effective way and while ensuring good value for the City.

What will you do?

  • Manage acquisition, deployment and payment approvals for computing and communications technologies
  • Manage technology and communications assets
  • Manage the invoicing and payment schedules of devices
  • Research issues related to computing and communications technologies including best practices and future state pilots
  • Recommend and review emerging technologies
  • Manage replacement of old and outdated means of communication
  • Understand lifespan of certain technologies and aware of warranty and timelines
  • Request and track hardware and services for staff
  • Submit work orders through change/order request forms
  • Investigate billing discrepancies
  • Additional related duties as required
