This individual will be responsible for creating and driving a strategic vision for payroll with a focus on controls, compliance, process improvements, technology automations, and workflow creations. Candidates must be detail-oriented, execution-focused, and accomplished at driving quantifiable results within a complex organization. Individual will also be responsible for partnering in the development of a more robust global payroll strategy. *Major Responsibilities* Leading the development and execution of the enterprise payroll strategy •Ensuring compliance and efficiency across the multiple payroll workstreams, including Payroll Tax and International payroll •Managing a ~$20B payroll in an outsourced model and working with the service provider to develop, document and maintain business processes and ensure consistent and accurate payroll model. Colleague population includes union and non-union associates with 254k people paid bi-weekly and 62k paid semimonthly •Ensuring compliance and best practices within the Time and Labor space •Managing vendor relationships, including SLA adherence, and ongoing vendor assessment to ensure the highest level of service delivery •Building strong partnerships and relationships within all HR workstreams(Compensation, Benefits, HR Service Center, Talent Acquisition, etc.) •Building strong partnerships with key stakeholders in Shared Services such as Finance, Legal and Compliance and ensuring end to end processes are effective and maintained •Maintaining awareness of the latest payroll legislation impacting the business and coordinating with the appropriate internal and external parties to ensure compliance •Supporting overall organization's SOX compliance requirements through adherence to key controls and timely completion of reporting •Providing guidance and advice on payroll matters, leveraging your expertise to drive organizational excellence •Demonstrating exceptional judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive people data •Managing team performance through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and team development •Understanding and supporting the complexities of business model which includes distinct but complementary lines of business including retail stores and pharmacies, Minute Clinics, Heath Care Benefits, CVS Caremark, CVS Specialty and Corporate •Supporting CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve *Travel * As needed *Required Qualifications * The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company's business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes: •15+ years of Payroll leadership experience •Experience in a large Fortune 100 company with an employee base of over 125,000 colleagues •Experience in Payroll Technology – such as Workday •Experience and knowledge in Time and Labor systems •Knowledge of finance and accounting practices within large organization •Extensive background in Payroll Tax which encompasses multi-state tax compliance •Experience managing payroll in an outsourced model •Extensive knowledge of payroll practices for US and Puerto Rico •Leadership skills and experienced with fostering accountability with team and vendor members' timely problem solving and focus on prevention •Customer-centric mindset with a seasoned ability to confidently communicate with all levels of leadership •Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday) •Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias *Preferred Qualifications * •Background and experience with international payroll •Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) *The typical base pay range for this role is:* $225,000.00 - $300,000.00 *Pay Range* The typical pay range for this role is: $157,800.00 - $363,900.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.    In addition to your compensation, enjoy the rewards of an organization that puts our heart into caring for our colleagues and our communities.  The Company offers a full range of medical, dental, and vision benefits.  Eligible employees may enroll in the Company's 401(k) retirement savings plan, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan is also available for eligible employees.  The Company provides a fully-paid term life insurance plan to eligible employees, and short-term and long term disability benefits.
