DESCRIPTION -

The Health Policy, Market Access and Reimbursement Manager will focus on contributing to the overall development and implementation of market access and reimbursement strategies and tactics to support commercialization of the products in the Elekta's portfolio.

This person will be based at the Elekta Washington, D.C. Office focusing on the Americas Region and work closely with regional and global government affairs, marketing, product development, and sales teams to provide the strategic and technical expertise necessary to forecast, secure, and protect reimbursement from either government or commercially sponsored programs. A successful candidate will be responsible for working cross functionally to design, execute, and measure access strategy activities, including working on solving reimbursement issues and providing education on payer trends and new reimbursement models.

The Governmental Affairs team for Region America is part of the Global Policy and Patient Access team at Elekta. Together, we ensure that all activities are integrated into the overall advocacy and governmental affairs strategy for Elekta and leveraging synergies and competencies across the globe.

RESPONSIBILITIES -

  • Develops policy positions and lead policy strategy on health policy, coverage, Medicare payment, and other issues impacting patient access to Elekta's products.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key government payors, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Write comment letters, position statements and other advocacy documents. Make presentations to federal and state policymakers advocating policy changes impacting the company.

  • Executes a market access strategy to secure and maintain reimbursement and patient access for procedures for Elekta solutions.

  • Creates and implements strategic and tactical recommendations to ensure optimal outcomes and market access for Elekta's products, particularly relating to reimbursement for radiosurgery, and radiotherapy (focusing on coverage, coding, and payment);

  • Works cross functionally to foster the development of market access capabilities by educating key internal stakeholders and aligning with reimbursement strategies to ensure plans are aligned with business strategy.

  • Provides strategic advice to Elekta's senior leadership on the current reimbursement environment, anticipated changes to payment policy, and market access risks.

  • Represents Elekta before associations and other organizations such as AdvaMed, ASTRO (American Society for Radiation Oncology), AAPM (American Association of Physicists in Medicine) (American Association of Physicists in Medicine), and ABS;

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by managers; and

  • Incorporates Elekta Values into all department functions and responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS -

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred (MBA, MPH, MS in biology or chemistry, or related field).

  • Minimum of 5-7 years progressive experience working on reimbursement, market access, or policy strategies 

  • Strong knowledge of federal health care programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid); Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation; MedPAC, coverage, coding, and reimbursement for diagnostic and therapeutic devices (preference given to those familiar with radiation oncology technology), and the federal rulemaking process is required. The ability to perform baseline data analysis using CMS datasets is preferred.

  • Ability to think strategically and to translate strategy into tactical implementation and to motivate people to execute on strategy.

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and drive positive change and to work on solo projects and as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong writing, editorial and proofreading skills required.

  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite; advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel a plus.

  • Must be able to travel based on the needs of the business. (Up to 10%)

The US base salary range for this position is $110,000-$175,000
