The Lactation Consultant is responsible for assisting the Patient Care Director in the overall operation of the Lactation Program. The IBCLC will assist mothers and babies with complex breastfeeding situations.
Status: part time
Shift: night shift
Hours: variable hours on the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift to total 24 hour/week.
3 years clinical experience with breastfeeding required.
Ability to participate in hospital/nursing committees
Utilizes standards and evidence based practice guidelines in clinical and educational decision making.
Displays cultural sensitivity related to the breastfeeding experience
Capable of working collaboratively with peers, physicians, managers and patients. Excellent communication skills, oral and written
Education Requirements:RN required, BSN Preferred
Valid RN Licensure
IBCLC Certification required
