Description

ENSCO is seeking an experienced Chef at the Transportation Technology Center (TTC), which is a remote research and test facility, to manage the day-to-day operation of the café.
​​
Responsibilities include:
All food production operations at the facility.

Menu planning, ordering, vendor monitoring, serving, inventory, and budgeting.

Promoting and maintaining a comfortable, customer-focused atmosphere for the café, and exceptional customer service to all café visitors.

Implementing and maintaining control procedures within the café, including daily food production charts and standardized recipes.

Creating, executing, and serving weekly menus to ensure the highest quality and variety of food while staying within the café budget.

Maintaining a quality sanitation program in all café areas.

Monitoring to ensure proper receiving, storage (including temperature setting) and rotation of food products to comply with Health Department regulations.

Monitoring all equipment in the café to ensure cleanliness and proper working conditions.

Maintaining a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Incorporating safe work practices in job performance.

Performing other related duties as assigned.

Working hours: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Qualifications

  • Maintain good customer service skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or equivalent; Minimum of three (3) years or more of experience as a cook, sous chef or chef running a kitchen in a cafeteria or full service restaurant.
  • Must have ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of menu planning, cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
  • Must be able to taste and smell to determine quality of food. 
  • Must have working knowledge of Health Department regulations including proper receiving of consumable inventory, understanding of safe food practices, temperature monitoring, proper handling, preparation and storage of food, and understanding cross-contamination.
  • Ability to work for prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. 
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, follow through and time management skills.
  • Valid driver's license to allow driving throughout the site. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in client and co-worker relations 
  • Ability to build professional and courteous relationships with your colleagues and supervisors.
