Job Description

The Supply Chain Management Analyst,  will be based in Batu Kawan, Penang. This role is  responsible for Planning-Procurement-Cross functions interface on strategic materials in plant.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do…

  • Coordinates activities involved with procuring direct materials, components, PCN, CN, ECOs with CIE, GBS, MDS and Planning.
  • To ensure zero down time associate to material commit delivery to Flex Systems Penang
  • Key KOI matrix Maximize revenue, Inventory DOS/ITO optimization, strategically justify inbound freight and operational cost associate with Supply Chain activities
  • Drives sourcing/pricing strategies in materials quotations.
  • Presents materials value-add to customers or suppliers, and influence customer to use Flextronics preferred suppliers.
  • Interfaces with customer or supplier in new project start-up, for cost of ownership issues.
  • Develops and leads implementation of flexibility and supply assurance plans.
  • Manages component cost/price on a local, regional and global basis.
  • Tracks materials financial performance, and initiate corrective actions when required.
  • Defines and implements pricing and costing strategies.
  • Coordinate sourcing strategies with Supply Management and Customers.
  • Develop an implement cost take down strategies.
  • Increase Vendor Managed Inventory, Reduced Lead-Time and Electronic Data Interface penetration.

Specialized Job Responsibilities may be required for certain positions.  These could include on or more of the following duties:

Supply Management:

  • Manage regional supplier contract negotiations, which includes Memorandums of Understanding, Non-disclosure agreement, and regional pricing agreements.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships. 
  • Measure and report Purchase Price Variance and initiate action plans.
  • Monitor and manage supplier lead times.
  • Mitigates shortages, excess on order and excess on hand.
  • Participate on and support global and regional commodity teams.
  • Contribute information/data on top spend suppliers for quarterly scorecards.

Customer Supply Chain Management:

General Purpose: 

Responsible for Planning-Procurement-Cross functions interface on strategic materials in plant.

  • Coordinates activities involved with procuring direct materials, components,PCN, CN, ECOs with CIE, GBS, MDS and Planning.
  • To ensure zero down time associate to material commit delivery to Flex Systems Penang
  • Key KOI matrix Maximize revenue, Inventory DOS/ITO optimization, strategically justify inbound freight and operational cost associate with Supply Chain activities

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Drives tactical escalation tasks and strategies in mitigate materials supply gap presenting FSP plant
  • Presents materials value-add to customers or suppliers, and influence customer to use Flextronics preferred suppliers.
  • Interfaces with cross function/sister plant/customer or supplier in escalation process FET tool or customer define tool (War room, Bose escalation package, customer define tool..)
  • Develops and leads implementation of flexibility and supply assurance plans.
  • Tracks materials gap trending performance, and initiate corrective actions when required.
  • Oversee, coordinate inventory DOS strategies with Supply Management team
  • Work closely with planner for alternate components associate in BOM, ECN, ECOs process
  • Increase Vendor Managed Inventory, Reduced Lead-Time and Electronic Data Interface penetration.

Specialized Job Responsibilities may be required for certain positions.  These could include on or more of the following duties:

Supply Management:

  • Manage EOL product
  • Monitor and manage supplier lead times.
  • Mitigates shortages, excess on order and excess on hand.
  • Participate on and support global and regional commodity teams.
  • Contribute information/data on top spend suppliers for quarterly scorecards.

Customer Supply Chain Management:

  • Manages material cost reviews.
  • Drive initiatives to improve gross material margin.
  • Identify, implement and drive actions for Retained Purchase Price Variance (RPPV) optimization.
  • Assist CSCM drive reconciliation process with customer (PPV, Premium charges, carrying costs, freight charges, excess and obsolete inventory, Non-cancelable, Non-Returnable (NCNR), etc.)
  • Identify opportunities to increase turnkey business and develop materials management plan.
  • Coordinate quarterly/monthly PPV hardcall process.

Here is some of what you'll need (required)…

  • Minimum degree in related field
  • Minimum 5 years of direct working experience in supply chain management
  • Effective communicator
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of functional concepts and a solid understanding of Flex policies and procedures. Has awareness of the functional impact upon work processes and other functions
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
