Electronics Technician

Intertek is searching for an Electronics Technician to join our Transportation Technology team in our San Antonio, Texas office.  This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Analytical Testing!

What you'll do:

  • Applies knowledge of A.C. and D.C. circuits (analog and digital) in the fabrication, modification and repair of electronic/electro-mechanical equipment. 
  • Troubleshoots and repairs PID control systems to subassembly level.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and calibrations and completes appropriate documents.
  • Maintains calibration certificates for all calibration standards.  Keeps an updated chart of all calibration standards showing calibration date, calibration due date, etc. 
  • Sends calibration standards to standards laboratory for periodic re-certification.
  • Effectively works within the confines of the documentation system of being especially aware of priority, verbal and written instructions, completion date, overtime authorization and safety requirements. 
  • Provides sufficient information, relative to work performed, to ensure that documentation is current.
  • Responsible for complying with departmental ISO procedures.
  • Performs other assigned tasks as needed. 

What it takes to be successful in this role:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.    
  • Completion of electronics or related field technical training Or 2 years of technical school courses in electronics or related field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Periodic exposure to heat and fumes.  Occasionally will work in limited crawl space or close quarters.  Requires use of ear plugs, safety shoes and glasses.
