POSITION SUMMARY: 

We are seeking an experienced Cell Line Development Scientist to join our team, playing a pivotal role in advancing the development of vaccines and therapeutic proteins. The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. in Biological Sciences with at least five years of relevant experience or an M.S. with independent research experience. This position involves leading efforts in stable cell line generation, executing the cell line development process from plasmid production to clone stability studies, and employing automated platforms for clone selection. The Scientist will also contribute to process development studies, provide laboratory support, maintain equipment, train personnel, and ensure comprehensive documentation for regulatory filings. This role requires a deep understanding of aseptic technique, mammalian cell culture, and cell line engineering technologies, as well as the ability to independently manage experiments and communicate effectively with team members. 

 

TASKS. The contractor shall: 

  • Contribute to stable cell line generation for vaccine and therapeutic protein candidates. 

  • Independently manage the cell line development process, including transfection, cloning, and fed-batch analysis. 

  • Utilize automated platforms for efficient clone selection and screening. 

  • Participate in the design and optimization of cell line development platforms. 

  • Perform small-scale process development studies and support medium preparation and supplies ordering. 

  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment such as cell counters and bioprocess analyzers. 

  • Train laboratory personnel on equipment usage and processes. 

  • Write and review technical reports and SOPs, documenting process development and cell line generation efforts. 

  • Collaborate on experimental plans for process development studies. 

  • Maintain detailed documentation for regulatory filings and communicate progress to the team lead. 

 

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have: 

  • B.S. in Biological Sciences with 5+ years of relevant experience, or M.S. with independent research experience. 

  • Hands-on experience with aseptic technique, mammalian cell culture, and cell line engineering technologies. 

  • Proficiency in cell counting, high-throughput transfection, single-cell cloning, and flow cytometry. 

  • Experience in monoclonal antibody and/or vaccine production. 

  • Ability to independently execute experiments and troubleshoot issues to meet project timelines. 

  • Effective oral and written communication skills. 

  • Familiarity with computer software for word processing and data analysis.
