Product Assembly and Warehouse Packaging Associates 

Schedule: 6:00am - 6:30pm

Rotating shifts:

Team A- for the 1st week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Team A for the 2nd week- Sunday, Monday and Tuesday

Team B- For the 1st week- Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Team B for the 2nd week- Wednesday, Thursday, And Friday

Shifts: 12.5 hours (e.g. 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM) 
• Sundays will NOT be regularly scheduled work days but may be scheduled as a workday if business needs dictate.

This schedule is not intended to be permanent. The leadership team will periodically reevaluate the needs of the business and make adjustments as necessary. As long as COVID-19 restrictions are in place temporary staff should expect a non-standard shift schedule.


PAY RATE: 12.00 - 17.00 PER HOUR
Pay Rate is based on Experience
 

Summary
Primary and assistant in product assembly & packaging efforts to attain shipping objectives.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, a qualified individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily either with or without reasonable accommodation. The requirements listed in this job description document are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Prepares product for packaging and delivery (i.e.: packaging, carton labeling, etc.)
  • Performs manual assembly and packaging of products according to shipping schedule and business needs.
  • Inspects material and ensures conformity to workmanship standards, and reports defective materials following standard operating procedures.
  • Operates equipment that assists with speed and accuracy of manual manufacturing steps.
  • Cleans tools and equipment per procedures.
  • To insure the quality of certain products, the employee will be required to assemble and/or package product in the chilled enclosure where temperatures may range between 0 and 8 degrees Celsius
  • Maintains good communication and working relationships with all departments and effectively functions within a team environment.
  • Maintains work area in high state of cleanliness and organizes segregation.
  • Effectively plans and utilizes time and resources to meet business needs and achieve business objectives.
  • Maintains work area organization and documentation to satisfy ISO and GMP standards.
  • Works in other departments when necessary to ensure customer requirements for shipments are achieved.
  • Maintains and adheres to all company safety policies and procedures.  
  • Exhibits professional etiquette that exemplifies the values of the organization.


Qualifications & Competencies

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance work instructions, quality control grids, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets. Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form. Must have sufficient English reading, writing and speaking skills to communicate effectively throughout the organization.

Math Ability: Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must understand and be able to convert measurement units from English to Metric and metric to English. Must have ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret graphs (bar, line, pie, etc…).

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to develop and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Must have ability to solve complex problems involving multiple variables.

Education and Experience

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years of shipping experience. Forklift experience preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Must be familiar with and be able to communicate via e-mail. Must be familiar with and be able to use computer software including word processing & spreadsheets (Microsoft products preferred), and ERP System. Spreadsheet skills must include ability to manipulate data.

 

Work Environment :

While performing the duties of this job employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally, the employee is exposed to flammable materials and fumes, airborne particles, high precarious places, risk of electrical shock, and extreme cold. Noise levels are moderate. Employees will often be required to work in chilled or extreme temperature enclosures. Personal protective equipment will be provided to employees for work in these areas, frequent performance of sampling, packaging and assembly in chilled enclosures is required of the role.

 

Physical Demands and Safety Equipment:
This role is physically demanding – as assembly and packaging can occur in a cold working environment. Employee will be required to work in 0° to 8° Celsius temperature enclosures. This role also may work in cold areas with temperatures reaching -30° Celsius for limited periods of time. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided to employees for work in these areas. The role requires the ability to wear PPE consisting of Hairnets as well as Beard nets and any other FDA ordered safety gear.
