Kelly Science & Clinical is currently recruiting candidates for a Lab Technician position at a specialty chemical company in Orange TX. The overall responsibility of the position is to perform various analyses of raw materials, process samples, and final products to ensure product quality requirements are achieved.

Job Requirements:

• Conduct routine analyses at specified stages in production process including GC, DSC, Melt Flow Rate, colorimetry, mechanical performance, and other analyses
• Input analytical results into computer data management systems
• Interact with site personnel to resolve issues with samples, products, and raw materials
• Ensure calibration, maintenance, and repair of analytical lab instrumentation
• Recommend modifications of existing analytical methods to achieve optimum quality
• Conformance to all safety, quality, customer, and regulatory requirements including proper handling of laboratory waste
• Maintain adequate inventories of chemicals, product retains, laboratory materials, and other operating supplies

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Chemistry or related science is preferred
• 1+ year of industry lab experience is required
• Experience in GC FID analyses would be a plus
• Ability to perform basic chemical and mathematical conversation calculations
• Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize daily work functions
• Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with team members and with personnel in other departments
• Punctuality and dependable attendance is required
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good computer skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays

This is a 6 month temporary assignment with the possibility of being hired based on individual performance and business needs. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm, for the first 6 months. If the candidate is thereafter hired by our customer, they will be expected to work a rotating 8 hour shift (days, evenings, and nights) including weekends and holidays.
