Kelly is hiring for a Scientist position with one of our clients in Carlsbad, CA.
 

  • Full time- W2
  • M-F 8am-5pm
  • 12 months contract (May be extended or converted)
  • $48/hr

Job Description:
The successful candidate must have proven success in assay development and be capable of performing bench science activities with broad experience in protein production and molecular biology. This role will be part of a cross-functional team tasked with identifying, initiating, and implementing high impact strategies with a focus on reducing supply chain risk. The ideal candidate has experience in the use of statistical tools such as Design of Experiments (DOE) to establish standard methodologies for method and process validation, as well as documentation of process development.
  • Design and implement experimental studies. Ability to analyze and summarize the data and provide complete documentation.
  • Develop analytical methods and implement experimental design
  • Evaluate and compare raw material specifications to make recommendations for sources of alternate supply
  • Lead and complete improvement or root cause analysis projects with a high degree of complexity and scope.
  • Prepare and complete validation protocols.
  • Works cross-functionally to efficiently release products, resolve problems, and provide support to other departments across the organization.
  • Present experimental results at team meetings and seminars.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • B.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or equivalent, with greater than 5 years of post-academic experience and a record of significant contributions to the business
  • Or, M.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or equivalent, with greater than 3 years of post-academic experience and a record of significant contributions to the business
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), Measurement System Analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and other statistical tools.
  • A solid understanding of and a demonstrated ability to complete general protein and molecular biology laboratory techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience preparing and executing experimental plans, communicating statistical analysis results and project reports.
  • Must be a flexible teammate capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • This position requires the ability to influence without direct authority by applying training, experience, and people/leadership skills to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. Project management experience.
  • Working experience with TrackWise and Agile EDMS a plus
