POSITION SUMMARY

The  Process Technician will be responsible for responsible for the daily follow-up of the existing food processes, methods, and the technical training of employees. This role reports to the Process Manager and is based out of our Hendersonville, North Carolina location.

 


Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Elaborates and ensures the daily technical follow-up of production operation procedures, specifications, and good manufacturing practice in collaboration with the Production Supervisor. 
  • Ensures the conformity of the methods and the processing control systems.
  • Ensures compliance of programs such as preventive sanitary maintenance of equipment components, calibration of transmitters, training, process control and sanitation.
  • In collaboration with various participants, identifies problems and anomalies. Analyses and proposes practical and effective solutions.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining production and sanitation procedures, and ensuring they are kept up to date.
  • Collaborates with person responsible for training plant employees on the procedures and methods of existing processes, as well as new technologies.
  • Verifies the effectiveness, price and safety of detergents used for sanitation, while maximizing the dosage of these products.
  • Supervises and/or carries out technical studies, gathering current research data pertinent to the technical development and the improvement of existing technologies.
  • Supervises and/or carries out technical studies relating to water consumption and rejection of effluents in the plant. 
  • Ensures close cooperation with the Purchasing and Quality Control departments relating to the settlement of complaints or claims which involve technical complaints about containers and packaging material.
  • Maintains effective communication with various departments.
  • Approves various packaging specifications as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

 

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' food processing and packaging experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in science/Engineering or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Synthesis and analysis spirit
  • Developed mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge in automation and processing controls 
  • Capacity to direct several projects at a time.
  • Knowledge of standard GMP
  • Facilitates communication on all levels with a flexible approach.
  • Basic knowledge of the processing software data (MS Office, Sherlock, Interal, SharePoint, Cognos C11)

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the food/beverage industry
  • Experience in Manufacturing or production environment.
  • Must have excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to direct, coach and train others.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detailed oriented and can multi-task.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical manufacturing setting.

 

FREQUENT:  Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility.  Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

 

OCCASIONAL:  Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program.  Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
